Il Bistrot dell'Ulivo born from the will of Franco and Rossella Roi, with a group of friends (Stefano Boeri, Azio Citi, Roberto Coggiola, Vittorio De Scalzi, Oscar Farinetti, Paola Farinetti, Gigi Garanzini, Mauro Pagani, Carlin Petrini, Antonio Ricci , Francesco Rubino, Stefano Senardi, Michele Serra, Antonio Silva, Silvio Soldini, Sergio Staino, Gianmaria Testa, Walter Vacchino, Giovanna Zucconi), to help the young people who return to farming in the mountains of Western Liguria, giving them, each second Saturday of July, in the olive grove "Ortai" in Badalucco, a “Certificato di Stima e Simpatia” ("Certificate of Esteem and Fondness") for having recovered abandoned lands and brought them back to production.
Every year the poster of the Bistrot dell'Ulivo is donated by a great artist.
Franco and Rossella designed this event with the ambition to make participants reflect on the difficulties of farming, in Liguria in general and in Valle Argentina in particular.
Every year a belt of a Roi olive grove is set up for the occasion for a convivial moment to which friends of various backgrounds come, with whom we share some reflections and thoughts.
At the end a certificate of esteem is given to a young family that has recently started farming in the Valle Argentina.
